NoMi Student Films Showcase

Presented with North Ed Career Tech High School

If you've ever wondered how the future generation sees our world, our human condition, or what their sense of humor is then you won't want to miss this special selection of short films from the enormously talented Film and New Media program at our local North Ed Career Tech.

Led by educator Zac Wendland, these students will surprise and delight you with this third-annual mini-festival of works and special guest directors in attendance for a Q&A with the students following the films. 100% of all ticket sales to this event will benefit the Film and New Media program, based in Traverse City, Michigan.

Students from the North Ed Career Tech Film and New Media program are juniors and seniors from a variety of school systems in Antrim, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, and Leelanau county. Students create a variety of projects, from short narrative pieces to music videos, documentaries, PSAs, and more. Students learn the art of storytelling along with the technical skills required to take an idea from concept to finished film. While these students are at the very beginning of their careers, there is one thing they are not short on: creativity. Every film is unique and gives you a surprising glimpse into the minds of the next generation of filmmakers.
